Latham recruitment in full force this fall

September 24, 2018

Latham Centers’ recruitment efforts have been strong during the last few weeks, thanks to the outreach of Betty Gray, Human Resources Representative, who is spreading the word about our career opportunities and networking through collaborative events, radio spots, and job fairs.

In early September, Betty represented Latham at the MassHire rebranding and recruitment event in Hyannis. Pictured above is Betty meeting Massachusetts Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development Rosalin Acosta. The seven Cape Cod non-profits in attendance at the MassHire event met with the Secretary of Labor as well as prospective candidates for employment. MassHire Cape and Islands Career Center (formerly Career Opportunities) is part of the Massachusetts One Stop Career Centers.

Recruitment efforts throughout September have been fruitful. Betty has interviewed prospective employees who applied after hearing Latham Centers’ recruitment spot on WQRC radio. “Some of our applicants had never heard of Latham before, but they were moved to find out more because they’re interested in helping individuals with special needs,” Betty said. She’s eager to meet with more job-seekers at two job fairs in the next 7 days: On Tuesday, September 25th, Latham Centers will participate in the Cape & Islands Job Fair in Hyannis, and next Tuesday, October 2nd, Latham will host a Job Fair at our future Latham Expansion Site at 1439 Main Street (Route 6A) in Brewster. The job fairs are a great opportunity to learn more about career opportunities at Latham. “In addition to sharing information about job openings, our extensive benefits and training, I talk with prospective employees about the moving, life-changing stories at Latham,” Betty said. “I enjoy being able to educate people about who Latham is and what we do – people are amazed and often commend us for the work we do.”
