Holiday Concert and Santa visit: a delightful vacation send-off

January 21, 2020

The Winter Wonders Holiday Concert put on by our students last month was a wonderful celebration of the season. Guests who came to the December 20th concert were welcomed by our new Performing Arts Teacher, Carl Burlin, and entertained by students who performed many song favorites:

  • Wonderful Christmas Time

  • Jingle Bell Rock

  • Where Are You Chrismas?

  • Winter Wonderland

  • Let it Snow (Bells)

  • Silent Night (Solo by Sarahjane Mason)

  • Little Drummer Boy (drums)

  • Deck the Halls (drums)

  • Oh, Hanukkah

  • Best Day of My Life

  • All I Want for Christmas is You

  • Feliz Navidad (dance party / percussion).

Students invited the audience of staff, parents, and special guests to join them for a caroling jam session including Jingle Bells, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. Santa arrived after the final song, beginning the annual Holiday Party with Santa and the elves.  We have so many people to thank for the musical production and student party!

  • Children’s Program staff members Carl Burlin, Patricia Thomas, Laura Haskew, Lauren Viera, and many more…

  • Sarah jane Mason (consultant) who mentored us on the intricacies of the show,

  • Staff from our Facilities Department (Brian Benevides, Santa; Mike White, Barbara Hill, and Jeanne Degnan, elves; and Bob Fitzpatrick (sound system),

  • Katie Emond, Katrina Fryklund, and Brittni Kliment, who assisted throughout the craft fair and holiday concert, and

  • The Race Point Classroom and Fred Walters, who set up the students’ Holiday Craft Fair which followed the Holiday Concert.

It was a wonderful way to celebrate mastery, belonging, independence, and generosity before beginning the holiday vacation.
