Two students from Harvard University paid a visit to our campus on Wednesday April 8th to begin conducting a study on the way people react to different music. Director of Children’s Services, Gerry Pouliot, participated in the study in front of all of Latham’s students and staff during an Early Release. Gerry wore a watch that measured his heart rate and skin temperature. The Harvard students played music and projected the results generated by the watch for all Latham staff and students to see. At the conclusion of this experiment, students were able to provide feedback to their teachers, about whether or not they would be interested in being involved in the study. Consents have been sent to guardians for permission, and within the next coming months the Harvard students will be back to conduct more research.

Stay tuned for more exciting news regarding their study!
