Four Members Welcomed to Latham Centers’ Board of Directors

Latham Centers welcomes four new members to its Board of Directors, including: a lawyer from Yarmouth Port; a high tech marketing consultant from Marstons Mills; a human services professional from Centerville, and a hospitality group executive from Plymouth.
DAN CHAMBERLAIN, Esquire, is an Associate at Rubin, Rudman, Chamberlain and Marsh in Yarmouth Port.  He is engaged primarily in insurance defense, general civil litigation, business law, alcohol licensing and personal injury law.  He is a member of the Barnstable County Bar Association and Cape Cod Young Professionals. He is a Cape & Plymouth Business Magazine ‘40 Under 40 Award’ recipient.  He is a member of the Dennis Republican Town Committee, Town of Dennis Economic Development Committee and the Harwich-Dennis Rotary Club.  He received his Bachelor of Science from Skidmore College in 2008 and his Juris Doctor in 2011 from the Appalachian School of Law in Virginia.
BONNIE ELLIS is a Project Manager at Boston Research Group, a marketing consulting firm.  She recently moved to Marstons Mills from Hopkinton.  Bonnie’s professional focus has been in computer equipment manufacturing, educational software and high tech market research.  Last year, Bonnie founded Mystic Sol to bring solar power to select non-profit organizations.  Mystic Sol is planning to install a solar array at Latham Centers later this year.  Currently Bonnie serves as a dedicated mentor to an at-risk student at the Hyannis West Elementary School, in a program sponsored by Hyannis Supporting Our Youth, Inc.  She is a graduate of Babson College.
MARY PAT MESSMER has been working in the field of human services for more than forty years, beginning as a Child Welfare Specialist for the State of Massachusetts specializing in adoption and foster care.  Throughout the 1980s, she was involved in community services for vulnerable families and children.  In 1991, she was named Chief Executive Officer of Cape Cod Child Development Program, one of the largest family service organizations on the Cape.  She was appointed to the Board of Early Education and Care by Governor Deval Patrick and served as Vice President of the Massachusetts Association of Early Education and Care for more than 12 years.  She currently sits on the boards of directors of the Cape Cod Times Needy Fund, the Community Action Committee of Cape Cod & Islands, Inc., and the Massachusetts Afterschool Partnership.  She also volunteers at A Baby Center, in Hyannis, MA.
ROBERT NEWMAN re-joins Latham Centers’ Board of Directors where he previously served from 2007-2011. He is President of Corcoran Jennison Hospitality, LLC, and General Manager of Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club in Brewster, a 429-acre resort overlooking Cape Cod Bay.  He has received numerous awards, including: the 2008 Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award; the Boston Main Streets Outstanding Business Award in 2003; and the Chinatown National Night Out Community Service Award for improving neighborhood life.  He has served on the Board of Directors for the Asian American Civic Association, Chinatown Main Street Program and Wang YMCA of Chinatown from 2002-2006. He is a native of Kildare, Ireland, and received a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honors in Business Management from Trinity College, Dublin.  Mr. Newman also holds an Honors Diploma from Dublin College of Hotel and Catering Management.
