Annual Spring Concert at Latham a Success!

Latham’s Annual Spring Concert took place on Wednesday April 1st. Each classroom performed a song using hand bells and the Latham Chorus performed five songs. Some fan favorites were the Race Point Roller’s rendition of “We Shall Overcome” and the Long Pond Lads and Lasses rendition of “Danny Boy”. The Latham Chorus started their part of the show with “Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles which had the entire crowd singing. They ended their performance with an even more interactive song, “Rockin’ Robin” by Bobby Day. This song had the audience singing and dancing (and we are still singing and dancing it during school today!).

Two of our seniors were honored during the concert and were able to perform songs independently. Ayanna, a recent graduate of Latham, played a Japanese song called “Kagome” on the recorder. Senior, and soon to be graduate, Nick, played the ever popular “My Heat Will Go On” from the movie “Titanic.”

Performing Arts teacher, Suzanne Johnson, has been preparing all the students for this concert over the past months. Suzanne has been leading students during their class time, as well as holding after school practices for the chorus. Suzanne’s dedication and leadership with the Performing Arts Curriculum is astounding and was highly celebrated during the concert.

Thank you Suzanne for all you do, and congratulations to all our student’s on a job well done!
