Adult Services celebrates with ribbon-cutting ceremony in Sandwich

June 13, 2018

Latham Centers’ Adult Services team hosted two separate ribbon-cutting events to celebrate the recent group residence openings in Sandwich and Harwich. In the first ceremony on Thursday, staff and residents gathered in Sandwich at the new “Timber” home to officially welcome the new residents, and to thank staff members for ensuring a smooth transition for our individuals.

As Latham President Anne McManus held the ceremonial ribbon with resident Daisy, she noted, “This is a great day for us at Latham Centers – we’re opening this fabulous new house.” Residential Manager Cathy Ebel said the Timber residents are very happy in their new Latham home and community, and pleased they’re able to continue their day programs. “We’re in a quiet neighborhood—perfect for walking—and the residents are enjoying their large, private backyard,” she added. Latham Centers opened the new Sandwich home as part of a two-phase move in which residents of the “Freds” program moved to Sandwich, then recent Latham School graduates moved to Freds.

Thank you to our Adult Services staff for your support and dedication to our residents, and to our Facilities team for your help! Highlights of the Freds ribbon-cutting ceremony will be shared in tomorrow’s blog.
