TIP of the WEEK: High school Transition

Latham-Centers3

The transition from middle school to high school can be particularly challenging. Be sure to meet with your child’s team long before the actual transition takes place. Allow for time for your child to see the school and meet the teachers before the other students arrive. Many times high school requires your child to move from one classroom to another multiple times during the day as well as having multiple teachers. Ask for a virtual tour as well as a physical tour. A virtual tour will let your child watch and learn the layout over and over again before the start of the school year making them more prepared and less anxious.
