TIP of the WEEK: Giving Choices

Latham-Centers3

One of the universal things that you will hear from parents of kids with PWS is that their child doesn’t like to hear the word no. Of course no one does but people with PWS hear this through our actions to keep them safe all day long. Offer as many possible choices as you can; clothing, outings, where to sit in the car, let them pick the paint for their rooms- anything and everything that can be a choice for them, should be. The more choices they have the more in control they will feel and we all now how feelings lead to actions.
